Entripy Custom Clothing Earns PROFIT Top 100 Ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

Huge shout out to Desi Wear’s parent company, Entripy Custom Clothing, for being named one of top 100 ranking companies of Canada’s by PROFIT Magazine.

Making it one of the fastest growing companies in Canada.

In association with Sony Pictures, Desi Wear is proud to announce the new Movie, a Romantic Musical, Saawariya. And we’ve got an Exclusive Tshirt for this launch!!! This new special edition Tshirt was designed by a hot new artist on the scene, Premi. And what makes this movie special, (besides the fact that DW is involved, heh), is that it’s the first Indian movie produced by a Hollywood production house.

So Saawariya will be released in November 2007. It was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The story is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story, White Nights.

The lead roles will be played by débutantes Ranbir Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor’s son) and Sonam Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s daughter).The film also stars Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji in supporting roles.
The protagonist is young 22 year old man who is a dreamer. He comes across a young lady and their story begins. Days are as bright as night. The story is based on four nights that the protagonists spend together. It is the story of a shy dreamer, Raj (22 years old), who spent most of his time isolated in his apartment, creating riddles and finding answers to them, jabbering poetry or arguing with his foolish landlady Miss Disa, with whom he shared a love/hate relationship.

Raj was loved by one and all, for he always brought happiness to the people around him. Destiny plans a magical tale for Raj over the next four nights of his life that shall change his entire being “Saawariya” is the story of a couple’s chance encounter and the advance of their parallel obsessions over four successive nights. An impromptu romance is initiated in a remote town in the serene beauty of picturesque Simla, a quaint hill station in Northern India that was once the summer capital of India under the British Raj, known for its lakes, mist, heavenly snowfall, rains and the tall swaying pine trees. The bright, fun-filled winding streets of the mall come alive with singing clubs, rustic folklore, dancing, love ballads, flourishing colonies of artists and weavers, and chants from the monastery- all woven in perfect harmony into a magical dream. It is here that the dreamer finds the ‘lost’ self in himself.

Well I guess the first post should be about the first post. First I’ll introduce myself. Jef is my name, Creative Director is my game. (Yes, that’s Jef with one f). Over there we have Manny, he’s the man behind DW. We got a few other people lurking around the back rooms here at DW, but we don’t bother them much. Heh

Why a blog. Why now? This is a blogevolution baby! Long have we sought after a platform to share some of the more personal and exciting news coming out of DW. And now we’ve found it. We’ve jumped on the WordPress platform for this blog so prep for a rocket ride!
You see, we’re so excited about what’s coming for DW that we decided now if the perfect time to come out and share some behind the scenes stuff on what makes DW the number one Urban Desi Street Wear in the world. (Sorry “otherguys”). The news, the upcoming designs, the events, the clubs, the music, the personalities, the talent all making up this movement of Desi.
After all, being cool is what desi culture stands for.
Speaking of images, yea, pictures are a large part of what we’re about here at DW. As the lead photographer I’ve always believed in proving the look and feeling through a certain style of photography. Together we’ve done a pretty good job of creating a unique “photodesigraphy” style. I personally believe these pictures are works of art, designed with music, architecture, all the while keeping our feet firmly grounded in street style. And it’s for this reason DW takes the path less traveled and openly displays all of our pictures. If we do a shoot with 80 pictures only a few will make it to the advertisement stage. And we’ll make a point of making sure you get to see those 80 pictures.
Take this shoot for example. Done in 2005 this still is one of my favorite shoots, and still stands up to the most current work. This was shot on location at Ottawa University with Alexandra Rodionova, (Lexxxy) and Charles-Eric Boncoeur, (Fuzzy). We had a whole crew on this shoot and turned a few heads as well.
Can’t leave out the new, the hot, and the extreme! We’ll be going behind the scenes of some of our most well known works, events, and some tidbits on a few controversies. But we won’t keep the new away from you. No sir. Take this shoot with Parul Sharma. Hands down one of the most talents women your likely to meet. She was Miss world a few years back, and is now an up and coming singer..
This brings up the personalities who’ve gotten into our Ts. From Sugar Sammy, Gurinder Chadha, Jassi Sidhu, Lindsay Ferguson, Biff Naked, Alexandra Rodionova, Jaspal Binag, and the Dhol Foundation. They’ve all to got behind us in one way or another in support of spreading Desi Wear Gear.
One of the really cool things you’ll see along this ride is designs designs and designs. Oh, and maybe some designs. From old school out of prints Tshirts, to the ones that didn’t make the cut, to the hottest most current ones. And maybe if your lucky a few previews of what’s to come.
