DW at Desi Fest05.30.08

The Desi Wear crew will be at “Desi Fest” this Saturday May 31,2008. The event is held at Dundas Square, in Toronto and runs from 10am to 10pm. Feel free to drop by the booth, we’ll have the exclusive Make Samosas Not War T-shirt, which by the way is turning out to be selling as fast as Hot Samosas!

Desi Fest is a South Asian music festival in celebration of South Asian Heritage Month. Yonge-Dundas Square is transformed into a South Asian bazaar and live music showcase for more than 20 Canadian and international artists.

This year’s performances include contemporary indo-jazz fusion and world music, and DJs from the Asian underground music scene. The winning DJ of the Desi DJ Competition is also set to perform. The musical lineup features Apache Indian, Autorickshaw, Shobha, Roach Killa and Nandita.

The festival also features dance and music workshops, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors and traditional South Asian delicacies.
