Reena Bhardwaj is a British born singer of Indian origin. She is the first British Asian (Indian) Artist to win nominations for the Zee Zine Award for Best Playback Singer and nomination for the MTV India Award for best new talent. Her work has appeared on various Bollywood films. In 2005 Reena Bhardwaj appeared live on the presentation of Nitin Sawhney’s albums Philtre in Germany (Berlin), Spain and other countries; In 2007 at the Womad festival and with the Trilok Gurtu band on 25 July, 2007 at Festival Músicas do Mundo in Sines, Portugal and with Nitin Sawhney & friends incl. Natacha Atlas, Akram Khan, & Anoushka Shankar on 10 Aug 2007, at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Reena Bhardwaj sings on the Nitin Sawhney’s albums Human and Philtre. She has performed on several Ministry of Sound CDs: Indian Sunset, Angel Beach, Kula Karma.

On the soundtrack of the film “Mangal Pandey: The Rising” she sings on “Main Vari Vari” together with Kavita Krishnamurthy (Kavita Subramaniam). She is the solo singer in the track “Yeh Rishta” composed by A.R. Rahman for the Hindi movie Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004) for which she got nominated for a couple of awards. She also sings a song each for the films “Baba” and “Tehzeeb”, both composed by A.R. Rahman. She has also sung for Basement Jaxx.
